Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam
Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam is a Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Dhaka, and earned his Ph.D. in Advanced Technology from Kumamoto University, Japan, through the prestigious MEXT scholarship. He also completed postdoctoral research at Kumamoto University. Dr. Alam’s research spans polymer chemistry, hybrid hydrogels, supramolecular chemistry, and nanotechnology. His work has been published in top-tier scientific journals including Langmuir (ACS), Polymer Journal (Nature), Soft Matter (Royal Society of Chemistry) and Journal of Colloid and Interface Science (Elsevier). In recognition of his contributions, he received the Best Researcher Award from Kumamoto University in 2013. He actively collaborates with Kumamoto University, the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, and BCSIR, and has supervised over 35 MS students, with their research featured in international journals. Dr. Alam is committed to advancing scientific innovation and mentoring the next generation of researchers.

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. With a career rooted in scientific excellence and international collaboration, Dr. Alam has made significant contributions to the fields of polymer chemistry, hybrid hydrogels, supramolecular chemistry, and nanotechnology. Dr. Alam began his academic journey at the University of Dhaka, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. His pursuit of advanced research led him to Kumamoto University, Japan, where he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Advanced Technology in 2014, supported by the prestigious Japan Government MEXT Scholarship. He continued his research at Kumamoto University as a Postdoctoral Fellow, further deepening his expertise in cutting-edge materials science. Throughout his research career, Dr. Alam has published extensively in high-impact international journals, including Langmuir (American Chemical Society), Polymer Journal (Nature Publishing Group), Soft Matter (Royal Society of Chemistry) and Journal of Colloid and Interface Science (Elsevier). His innovative work earned him the Best Researcher Award from Kumamoto University in 2013, recognizing his dedication, originality, and scientific rigor. In Bangladesh, Dr. Alam continues to lead research initiatives in collaboration with Kumamoto University, the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, and BCSIR (Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). He has supervised over 35 Master’s students, many of whose research findings have been published in respected international journals. Dr. Alam is deeply committed to fostering scientific inquiry and mentoring young researchers.
