BIOGRAPHY
Tanvir Hossain Emon is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (BGE) at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. He completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Power Development Board High School in 2009 and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Cambrian College, Dhaka, in 2011. He earned his B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh, with CGPAs of 3.80 and 3.87, respectively. During his master’s program, he received the prestigious National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship (2018–2019) from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh, in recognition of his research excellence. Before entering academia, Mr. Emon worked as a Bulk Production Officer at Incepta Vaccine Ltd., Bangladesh (September 2019–January 2022), where he gained substantial industrial experience in bioprocess technology, fermentation, and vaccine production, contributing to the manufacturing of bulk vaccines against Cholera, Hepatitis B, and Meningitis. In January 2022, he joined NSTU as a Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, focusing on both teaching and research. His research interests include microbial biotechnology, plant stress physiology, and plant–microbe interactions, with particular emphasis on harnessing beneficial microorganisms for bioremediation, antimicrobial compound discovery, and enhancing plant tolerance to salinity stress. He has published over ten peer-reviewed research articles and presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, earning Best Poster Presentation Awards multiple times. Beyond research, Mr. Emon is committed to mentoring young minds in biotechnology and genetic engineering. Through his academic and research endeavors, he aims to advance sustainable biotechnological solutions to address industrial, agricultural, and environmental challenges.
