Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momin Siddique

Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momin Siddique is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oceanography at Noakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. He holds degrees from the University of Chittagong, the University of Tromsø, and a Ph.D. in Fisheries from the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic. His research focuses on environmental pollution, microplastic contamination, biological oceanography, and coastal aquaculture. Dr. Siddique has authored 4 books and over 110 research articles, with more than 2,500 citations and an H-index of 30 (Google Scholar). He actively collaborates with leading universities and research institutes in Europe and North America.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momin Siddique graduated with a B.Sc. and M.S. in Marine Science from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and later obtained a second Master’s degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture Management, and Economics from the University of Tromsø, Norway. He earned his Ph.D. in Fisheries from the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, in 2016. Since March 4, 2024, Dr. Siddique has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oceanography at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the same department from February 12, 2017, to March 3, 2024. He has also held several academic and administrative positions, including Chairman of the Department of Oceanography and Assistant Director of the Research Cell at NSTU, as well as Research Scientist at the Research Institute of Fish Culture and Hydrobiology in the Czech Republic. Dr. Siddique’s research interests include environmental pollution, microplastic contamination, biological oceanography, and coastal aquaculture. Over his 14 years of academic and research career, he has authored 4 books and more than 110 research articles in high-ranking journals. His work has been cited over 2,542 times on Google Scholar and 1,638 times in Scopus, with an H-index of 30 (Google Scholar) and 24 (Scopus). He has also established strong research collaborations with several leading universities and internationally reputed laboratories in Europe, North America, and Canada.
