Md. Shariful Islam

Md. Shariful Islam is a faculty member in the Department of Agriculture at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU). He holds both a BS and an MS from Gazipur Agricultural University, where his master's thesis focused on the "Utilization and Obstacles of ICT in Agricultural Extension Services." With a strong passion for teaching and research, he joined NSTU to contribute to the nation through academia.

BIOGRAPHY

Md. Shariful Islam is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. He balances responsibilities with a deep commitment to advancing agricultural sciences. Academic & Research Focus His work is primarily centered on Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Sociology, with a specialized focus on the digital transformation of farming systems. He is a leading voice in exploring how Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies—specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning—can be integrated into extension services to modernize the agricultural landscape in Bangladesh. His recent research initiatives include: Assessing the AI literacy and preparedness of future agriculturists. Evaluating the impact of social media-driven extension services.
