Associate Professor
Dr Md Abdullah Al Mamun
An Associate Professor in Food Technology and Nutrition Science at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) and a Commonwealth Scholar (MSc, Nottingham Trent University), I have been completed my PhD in Geography (Climate change impact on coastal areas Food Security) at Hong Kong Baptist University as an HKUGC Studentship awardee. Grounded in multi-sectoral experience spanning academia, international NGOs, and clinical dietetics, my work focuses on strengthening agricultural food systems, climate change adaptation, and community empowerment to prevent malnutrition and drive global food security. A dedicated science communicator, I have authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals—including *World Development*, *Springer Food Security*, and *PLOS One*—and regularly present awarded research at international conferences while fostering inter-institutional partnerships.

BIOGRAPHY
A faculty aiming to establish communication and organisational skills through national and international partners in Global Food and Nutrition Security, Food Science and Development, and Climate Change Adaptation Agriculture system. As an FTNS (Food Technology and Nutrition Science) faculty member, I have completed MSc in Global Food Security and Development at Nottingham Trent University, the UK receiving funds from the Commonwealth Commission of UK, 2017-18. So, as an Academic person in the institutional sector, I aim to contribute to the area of prevention and control of malnutrition by minimizing food insecurity through research study on the agriculture food system which will deliver services, institutional capacity building and community empowerment in food security and nutrition aspects. Right now, I am am a Associate Professor,Department of Food Technology and Nutrition Science, Noakhali Science and Technology University. Prior to my PhD study, I worked at several NGOs as Nutrition integration officer, Hospital as dietician, and universities as a faculty at national institutions and international organizations. I have more than 20 scholarly articles published in reputed peer-reviewed journals namely, Springer Food Security, Elsevier World Development, PLOS One and sage INQUIRY, which represents my passion for science communication. I have attended and deliver my research work through poster and oral presentations in many national and international reputed conferences, seminars, and workshops with awards. I have been bestowed several grants to attend prestigious courses in Bangladesh, India, Netherland. I have been awarded commonwealth shared scholarship to pursue my MSc in the UK. I am now a Hong Kong UGC studentship awardee in department of Geography, Hong Kong Baptist University for my PhD study.
