Thesis Title: SwinGhost-ClustNet: An Explainable Deep Ensemble Model for Papaya Leaf Disease Detection and Field Deployment in Bangladeshi Agriculture
Overview: Early detection of papaya leaf disease is essential for Bangladeshi farmers who experience 39.9% post-harvest losses and pesticide misuse risks. The proposed research presents SwinGhost-ClustNet, which is an ensemble of Swin Transformer to capture the global context, GhostNet to capture the local textures, cross-attention fusion, and K-means clustering (k = 8, silhouette score 0.67) on a 9342-image dataset across eight classes (anthracnose, bacterial spot, healthy, leaf curl, mealybug, mite, mosaic, ring spot) in eight districts. The model reached 99.25% accuracy, 99.28% precision, 99.25% recall, 99.25% F1-score, and 1.000 ROC-AUC on 1401 test images, which is 2.10% higher than base models using pseudo-labels and cross-attention (ablation-validated). Explainable AI (Grad-CAM++ IoU 0.72, Layer-CAM 0.68, and Grad-CAM 0.65) visualizes disease-specific features such as lesions and webbing, and enables building farmer trust. An API based on Flask provides real-time diagnostic, confidence ratings (>70% criterion), and recommendations of pesticides in the Bengali language, which makes it possible to deploy it to the field regardless of single-label restrictions. Future efforts: severity scoring + dosage recommendations, multi-label classification, model pruning (<100 MB), cloud deployment (AWS/GCP), and multi-crop validation with domain adaptation (e.g., 98.89% on lemon leaves; Section 4.7) to address domain shift and species differences. This promotes precision farming, which minimizes losses and excess of chemicals in Bangladesh.

Thesis Title: An Investigative Study on Enhancing Performance of DSDV Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) Routing Protocols: A Proposed Hybrid Protocol
Overview: Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are dynamic, self-organizing communication environments without a fixed infrastructure where nodes are interconnected. This paper is a comprehensive study on the performance evaluation of our newly designed hybrid routing protocol compared to established protocols like Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) and Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV). The hybrid protocol takes advantage of proactive and reactive routing techniques by incorporating components from both DSDV and AODV. The proactive routing protocol is a kind of routing protocol that keeps track of the routes and network topology continuously by maintaining a routing table, whereas the Reactive routing protocol does not. In this research, DSDV is the primary protocol, and AODV is initiated if no direct connection is initially found to the destination. The nodes are initially flooded to find their locations, but if the nodes change their position while packets are being delivered, it triggers the system. AODV is activated at that moment to ensure maximum packet delivery. The NS-3 network simulator conducts extensive simulation tests that assess the hybrid protocol’s throughput, packet delivery ratio, energy consumption, and delay. According to our findings, the hybrid protocol uses about the same amount of energy as DSDV while achieving higher throughput and a maximum packet delivery ratio (about 30–35% more than AODV and 22–26% more than DSDV). However, in contrast to DSDV and AODV, it shows larger delay values (20% more).

Thesis Title: An Enhanced Approach for Zone Routing to Improve the Security
Overview: Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are dynamically self-organized, temporary networks between mobile wireless devices. These networks are particularly vulnerable to security threats due to the absence of centralized control and the inherent insecurity of wireless communication channels. This study proposes the Secure Zone Routing Protocol (SZRP) to facilitate secure packet transmission between connected mobile nodes across various levels. SZRP is developed by integrating advanced cryptographic techniques, including the AES encryption system and the SHA hashing algorithm, into the Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) framework. We conducted extensive simulations using Network Simulator 2 (NS-2) to evaluate SZRP’s performance in terms of packet delivery fraction, routing load, route acquisition latency, and resilience against malicious attacks. The results demonstrate that SZRP enhances the security of MANETs while maintaining efficiency comparable to traditional routing protocols. This work contributes to developing more secure and robust mobile networks, offering the potential for applications in diverse fields requiring reliable communication.

Thesis Title: Classifying Bengali Newspaper Headlines with Advanced Deep Learning Models: LSTM, Bi-LSTM, and Bi-GRU Approaches
Overview: Reading newspapers is beneficial for people of all ages and the global community. The enjoyment of gathering diverse data from various sources adds to the overall experience. To enhance specificity in Bengali news headlines, recognizing the news genre becomes crucial. Recognizing the genre of the news, it is a very challenging task in Bengali Text Classification with the help of AI. A very few research works is done on Bengali News headline classification and we have done a model to provide a solution to the addressed issue. Due to the continuous change of the structure of the news headlines, we have employed a neural network adoption connection to our methodology experiment on a mixture of primary and secondary dataset. Achieving significant results, we implemented a Bengali dataset in Multi Classification using Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), Bi-Long-Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM), and Bi-Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU). The dataset is established by aggregating news headlines from various Bengali news portals and websites, showcasing robust categorization performance in the end product. Six categories were employed for the classification of Bengali newspaper headlines. The Bi-LSTM Model emerged with the highest training accuracy at 97.96% and the lowest validation accuracy at 77.91%. Furthermore, it demonstrated enhanced sensitivity and specificity.
