BIOGRAPHY
Mahin Reza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh, where he has been serving since 2017. He earned his MS (2015) and BSc (2014) in Microbiology from the University of Chittagong, graduating with top scores in both programs. His MS research focused on the isolation and characterization of bacteria capable of degrading polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from crude oil–contaminated coastal environments. At NSTU, Reza has led and co-led multiple research projects addressing critical issues such as bacterial antimicrobial resistance, pesticide biodegradation, microbial infectious diseases, and plant–microbe interactions. His expertise spans general and molecular microbiology, bioinformatics, immunology, and analytical microbiology. He has published in peer-reviewed journals including Frontiers in Immunology and Bangladesh Journal of Microbiology, and has presented his work at national conferences. Reza has received several research grants and fellowships, including the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship and grants from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. In addition to his research, he has extensive teaching experience in genetics, microbiology, virology, and biotechnology, and is actively involved in mentoring students. He is a member of the Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists (BSM) and the Graduate Microbiology Association of Bangladesh (GMA).
