Tourism and Hospitality Management

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM), Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), is pleased to announce that its Reformed Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Curriculum and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Master of Business Administration (MBA) Curriculum have been officially approved by the Academic Council of the University during its 73rd and 74th meetings, respectively. This approval represents a significant milestone in the Department's ongoing efforts to modernize its academic programs and strengthen quality assurance in higher education. Developed through a comprehensive curriculum reform process, the new programs are designed in accordance with the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), placing emphasis on student-centered learning, measurable learning outcomes, competency development, continuous assessment, and continuous quality improvement. The reformed curricula have been developed in alignment with the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF), the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, and contemporary international standards in tourism and hospitality education. The curriculum development process also incorporated valuable feedback from academic experts, industry professionals, alumni, employers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the programs remain responsive to the evolving needs of the tourism and hospitality sector. The revised BBA curriculum introduces an updated program structure with clearly defined Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), modern teaching and assessment strategies, enhanced practical and laboratory components, and greater emphasis on industry engagement and experiential learning. Similarly, the newly approved OBE-based MBA curriculum has been designed to develop graduates with advanced managerial competence, research capabilities, strategic thinking, leadership skills, ethical values, and digital literacy, enabling them to excel in both academia and the tourism and hospitality industry.
